Western Pleasure Super Sires awards $85,000 in Cash Payouts at the Reichert Celebration

The inaugural Western Pleasure Super Sires 3 Year Old Non Pro Event is now in the books. 9 riders, including 6 Novice riders, competed in the Limited Non Pro Class and 6 riders, including winning Limited rider Katie Johnson, rode in the Open Non Pro Class at the Reichert Celebration in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, September 7th. Riders had the opportunity to have the winnings (totaling $85,000), paid in cash in the arena by Western Pleasure Super Sires treasurer Joan Schroeder.

Brittany Bevis, aboard the 3 year old Suddenlee Single by A Touch of Sudden out of Potential Advantage, garnered 1st place on all four judges cards in the Limited Non Pro class to win $11,024.

Katie Johnson, a Limited rider in the Open Non Pro class, riding Touched Softly by A Touch of Sudden out of Dees Material Girl placed 1st and won the Limited Bonus for a total payout of $15,132. Congratulations to both of the class winners in the inaugural Western Pleasure Super Sires 3 year old Non Pro competition.

WPSS stallion, A Touch of Sudden, had 3 offspring in the competition and won the highest amount of prize money, totaling $34,250. A Touch of Sudden was named the first ever Western Pleasure Super Sire of the Year. Troy Oakley received the Western Pleasure Super Sires traveling bronze created by equine sculptor and horsewoman, Marrita Black.
